mounted on the wall with the included bracket or on the floor with an optional Leg Kit.

Blue Flame or Infrared?
Choose between the Blue Flame model that has a soothing blue flame while efficiently heating your room,
or an Infrared model that radiates heat directly onto people and objects. Either will heat your room equally
well. The Infrared heaters direct the heat out from the unit, plus Infrared rays are absorbed by skin.
If you want to sit near the heater and "feel the heat", choose the Infrared. If you just want the room to be warmed, or
you prefer the soothing flame, choose the blue flame.
Thermostat or No Thermostat?
Most people prefer thermostats, but if you don't need one, save yourself some cash and go with a manual unit. If you want to
keep the room at an even temperature at all times, you'll need a thermostat. It will turn the unit on
and off to maintain the set room temperature. Sometimes, though, you might have a situation
where you just want more heat in one room (you have central heat, but one room is always colder), or you just want to have the
heater on when you are in the room and YOU want to control when the heat is on and off. Examples - a bathroom, a sun porch that
you use for an hour in the morning, a family room that you use for two hours in the evening to watch TV. In these cases, you
may not need, or want, a thermostat. Just ask yourself - Do I want the heater to work automatically (e.g., via a thermostat), or do I want to control
when it is on and off (manual control).
Bedrooms, Bathrooms and Garages
Most states have codes that set the maximum size of a bedroom heater to 10,000 btus. For bathrooms, the
maximum is typically 6,000 btus. Even if you have a huge bedroom or bath, this code still applies.
For the garage, Procom makes a special garage heater. It is basically a blue flame heater where the
flame is not visible. It is operated manually (heat the garage when you're working in it, but not
all the time). Some local codes may not allow an open flame unit in a garage, so do consider the
garage heaters.
Fish/Ice Houses, Camping, Workshop, Emergency Heat
Procom now has a 10,000 btu blue flame heater that comes with a hose and regulator that allows you to run the heater off any small propane
tank, such as a standard barbecue tank. The heater is still designed to be wall-mounted, or you can purchase the optional leg kit and set it
on the floor. And you should still put the tank outside for safety. It is manually operated and has all the features as the other units (piezo-electric
pushbutton start, oxygen depletion sensor, etc.). You supply your own tank. We supply the heater and hose with regulator. This unit is popular
with people who fish in the winter (fish house, ice house), for campers, unheated workshops, and for emergency home heat when the power is off.
Which Brand Should I Buy? - Procom, Kozy World, Mr. Heater?
The heaters on this page are from Procom and Kozy World. They are manufactured by the same company and have identical specifications and
warranties. The retail packaging is different. If you care what brand is on the box,
please order via phone and tell me that you must have Kozy World or Procom and I will let you know if I have that brand
in stock. Otherwise, you will receive whichever brand I currently have in stock.

Mr. Heater Ventfree Wall Heaters
Mr. Heater heaters cost a little more, but for the extra money, you get a factory-installed blower, a choice of wall mounting or floor mounting (the leg kit is included),
and the styling is more attractive. You pay about the same for the Mr. Heater unit than you would pay for the Procom or Kozy World unit with the optional blower and leg kit.
