Shipping Costs have risen a lot over the past two years. The fuel surcharge, alone, now runs between $40 and $77. Residential delivery adds another $50.
Just two years ago, I could ship a fireplace for $140 to $220,
anywhere in the US. Today, the numbers are $165 to $335. St. Paul Mercantile charges a flat amount to ship a fireplace. The amount charged is actually below our average cost,
but we have chosen to cap the shipping charge at $195. Customers who live near central PA or western MD are invited to pick up their fireplaces to avoid the shipping charge.
